It's almost time for New Years parties and I couldn't be more stoked. NYE parties are the best because everyone's been off for work and spending time with their families. Meaning they're ready to LET. LOOSE. These champagne cups are just the thing to do it with. They're just the right amount of classy and trashy, and we're totally obsessed.

Start by rimming your glass with gold sanding sugar, because duh, New Year's celebrations are all about the sparkle. Next, make the champagne layer: a delightful combination of champagne, lemon juice, sugar, water, vodka, and a healthy dose of gelatin powder. This mixture gets heated just enough to allow the gelatin powder to dissolve. Transfer the mixture into a measuring cup for easy pouring and divide evenly between your glasses.

Next comes the "foam" layer. Made with vodka, gelatin, boiling water, and some sweetened condensed milk, it comes together in a flash. When your champagne layer has set, top with your "foam" and place back in your refrigerator to firm up. The results? A gravity defying glass of champagne, and a treat special enough to ring in the new year.
