Looking for the perfect drink to ring in the holiday season this year? Look no further than these peppermint martinis. Sweet and creamy with festive minty flavor, this is the perfect Christmas cocktail to celebrate the holiday (or enjoy this winter drink all season long!). If you're a diehard fan of peppermint bark, then trust us—this is the drink for you.
What's in a peppermint martini?
We'll be honest—this really doesn't classify as a classic martini, besides the fact that it's a vodka cocktail in a martini glass. But, these peppermintinis are too cute not to show off in the classic martini style. To make these festive drinks, you'll combine white chocolate liqueur, vodka, peppermint schnapps, and heavy cream in a cocktail shaker with ice, before serving these shaken—not stirred—martinis with a homemade chocolate and peppermint rim. We're feeling festive already!
All about the peppermint rim
For the cherry on top of these sweet drinks, we created a peppermint rim to really take these drinks up a notch. To create the rim, you'll dip your glasses in a plate of melted chocolate before dipping them in a plate of crushed candy canes. Any remaining chocolate can be drizzled into the bottom of your glasses—because we can never get enough of the chocolate and peppermint combo. Freeze your glasses before serving to keep your rim and drink extra chilled.
Can this be made vegan?
While they won't taste exactly the same, you can swap out the heavy cream for coconut cream—it will have a slight coconut flavor, but will still be delicious and creamy. Make sure to use a dairy-free white (or dark) chocolate liquer, and create your chocolate rim with vegan, dairy-free dark chocolate! (or skip out on the peppermint rim if you'd rather not).
