10 Things Only Real Fans Know About Martha Stewart

You think you know Queen Martha, but do you really? Here are some little-known facts about the chef-mogul.
She's been very candid about her time in prison.
Back in 2004, Martha served five months in a West Virginia federal prison after being convicted of obstruction of justice and lying about a stock sale. Since then, she's opened up about the "horrible experience," saying "there's nothing good about it, nothing."
She's also refuted suggestions that serving time thickens your skin: "It does not make you stronger," she said in 2017. "I was a strong person before that and thank heavens I was and I can still hold my head up high and know that I'm fine."
She also has a sense of humor about that period.
Her BFF Snoop Dogg told Andy Cohen earlier this year the best story he got from Martha about her time in prison was when “she told me that when she went in there they told her to put some newspapers on to protect herself from getting stabbed and she was like, ‘Why not use my magazines? They’re a little bit thicker.’”
She has a lot of celebrity friends.
Sure, a lot of them are celebrity chefs (oh, hey, Daniel Boulud), but others are just celebrities who are huge fans of her decades of work. Take Jennifer Garner, for example. She loves Martha's roast chicken recipe.
There's one ingredient she'll never, ever use.
And that ingredient is truffle oil. "Oh, I would never use truffle oil, oh, never," she said on the Today Show earlier this year.
Why? "It's bad. They've done many studies on truffle oil. It's synthetic, it's fake, it's horrible. It clings to your tastebuds, it's a hideous thing. Forget truffle oil."
To be fair, that wasn't the first time Martha expressed her hatred for the ingredient.
She's never without this snack.
No, it's not cookies, that picture is misleading. And though I'm sure Martha does oftentimes have cookies on her, the snack I'm talking about is hard-boiled eggs. She'd much rather travel with food borne of her own chickens than eat anyone else's.
She sticks to a pretty regimented food routine.
Her days always, always, always begin with a green juice (with vegetables grown in her own organic garden, of course). She'll usually have a fish as protein for the rest of the day and is always sure to swap in a non-traditional flour she's milled herself where possible. All of this is what she attributes to looking much younger than her 76 years.
Her palate is very refined.
Again, not one that's likely to shock you. But this clip of Martha saying PSLs are for "basic bitches only" is always worth revisiting.
She's super close with her grandkids.
Truman and Jude have inherited Martha's love of food.
There is literally no one better than her at social media.
