What says summer more than a fruity frozen marg? While we love our classic margarita recipe, when we’re craving something a bit more fruit-forward (and icy cold), we turn to these frozen strawberry margaritas. While these are a staple summer drink to cool off during those too-hot days, these margaritas go beyond one season: since they work best withfrozen strawberries, so you can make it year-round! Get to blending—happy hour starts now.
How to make a frozen strawberry margarita:
It couldn’t be simpler: combine all of your ingredients in a blender, blend until smooth, and serve! Feel free to get creative when creating your rim: use kosher salt, coarse salt, or even tajín!
Variation ideas.
— Switch up the herb. We love adding fresh basil for some sweet anise-y flavor, but other fresh herbs like mint or even cilantro can kick up the flavor of this sunny cocktail.
— Blend it up. If you prefer your frozen drinks on the thicker side, continue adding additional ice cubes one at a time until you’ve reached your desired texture.
— All about the tequila. We use silver tequila in this recipe; feel free to use your fave brand, or check out our list of the best tequilas we tasted! More of a mezcal fan? Turn our mezcal margarita into this fruity blended variety!
