Quick, easy, and made with the simplest ingredients, air fryer green beans give you tender, crispy results without having to turn on your oven or light up your stove.
This rendition comes with a treat: 8 cloves of creamy, buttery garlic that get air-fried alongside the green beans for bites of roasted garlic that don’t involve turning on your oven. You can eat them alongside the beans or reserve them for another use, like smearing alongside butter and flaky sea salt on a slice of toasted sourdough bread. If you’re a big garlic lover, increase the number of cloves to as many as you’d like—they’ll cook all the same.
The cornstarch in the coating has two functions here: It acts as a spice-binder by securing the seasoning onto every green bean, and also provides a tiny bit of crunch factor as it dehydrates in the fryer. If you're following a gluten-free diet, swap out the soy sauce for tamari. If you’re on a super-low-carb diet, feel free to eliminate both the cornstarch and the soy sauce, and substitute in 1/4 teaspoon more salt for the soy sauce.
For a fast and satisfying meal, serve the green beans alongside cooked rice and any leftover proteins you might have on hand, like baked salmon or rotisserie chicken.
