What is taco dip?
Taco dip is very similar to7 layer dip, minus the beans. The creamy dip is made from cream cheese and sour cream, and gets its flavor from taco seasoning, pickled jalapeños, lime juice and garlic powder. If you're not a beans fan, or are simply looking for the easiest dip possible, this is the dip for you.
Make ahead and storage.
This is an ideal make-ahead appetizer to prep for your Super Bowl party. Simply prepare, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate until ready to serve! In the fridge, this dip will last for 3-4 days.
Variations and topping ideas:
—Add some guacamole, throw on some salsa and crumbled queso fresco before adding the veggies of your choice. Black olives, candied jalapeños, tomatoes, and cilantro would all be delicious.
— Looking to make this heartier? You can even top this dip with pre-cooked ground beef (or vegan ground beef) to make this dip similar to a deconstructed version of your fave classic taco.
—Try Italian seasoning instead of taco seasoning; crumbled goat cheese to replace the cheddar and jack; lemon juice for the lime; and chopped pickled peppers as a sub for the jalapeños.
— How about yogurt instead of sour cream? Try Za'atar seasoning instead of taco seasoning, pickled red onions for the jalapeños, and crumbled feta to replace the cheddar and jack.
Serving.
Scoop this dip with tortilla chips (or cheesy homemade keto tortilla chips) or your favorite dippable veggies for the easiest game day app.
