27 Garlic Recipes That Put Our Favorite Ingredient Front And Center
You can add a clove (or 10) to pretty much any savory recipeâyou won't be sorry!
Weâll admit, we struggled a bit when coming up with this list of our best garlic recipes. Not because there arenât enough that feature garlic, but because there are TOO many. Almost every single savory recipe from apps to sides to mains can benefit from a clove (or two, or three, or five đ) of the âstinking rose,â so grab those breath mints and check out our 27 favorite garlic recipes.
First things first. Garlic can be a bit tricky to harness if you donât know what youâre doing. Weâve included our favorite way to peel it out of its papery shell (hint: smash it!), as well as the best way to roast it to bring out its creamy, almost sweet flavor. Garlic goes with pretty much anything, but there are a few ingredients that pair particularly well with it, like honey, butter, cheese, and chili. Weâve included a few basic recipes featuring them in tandem with it, like our honey garlic glazed salmon, our garlic butter potatoes, our garlic Parmesan wings, or our spicy chili garlic noodles. Try them out as you get used to cooking with more and more garlic, then expand your horizons.
Speaking of, garlicâs unmistakably potent fragrance and flavor is used in cuisines all over the world. Weâve included some of our favorite nods to that here, like our Middle Eastern hummus, our Korean sautĂ©ed spinach, our South American chimichurri sauce, our Italian garlicky spaghetti, and our Hawaiian garlic shrimp. Many of these have become repeat staples in our kitchens, and once you try them, youâll see why.
